Skylights & White Sesame Interior Paint
Before and after: installing two skylights; painting the ceiling and walls in the same designer color, White Sesame in Emerald flat finish; and painting all of the trim in the same color with a satin finish for a clean and elegant look.
Project Overview
This project combined structural daylighting with a full interior repaint. We installed two skylights on vaulted ceilings, then brought the bedroom, dining area, and related spaces together with one cohesive wall and ceiling color. Using flat paint on large surfaces keeps glare down, while satin on trim adds subtle depth without breaking the monochrome palette.
Scope of Work
- Skylights – Two new skylights installed and finished, including drywall and interior wells
- Walls & ceiling – White Sesame in Emerald Interior Acrylic Latex, flat finish
- Trim – Same White Sesame color in satin finish (windows, crown, wainscoting, and related millwork)
- Protection & prep – Masking, sheeting, and surface prep for spray and brush/roll application where appropriate
- Roof integration – Flashing and shingle work tied to the new skylight curbs
The Result
Vaulted rooms now get natural light from above, and the unified White Sesame scheme reads calm and high-end. The satin trim catches light slightly differently than the flat fields, which reads as intentional craftsmanship rather than a flat, single-sheen box.
