Wall and Column Removal with LVL Beam Installation

This wall and these columns were removed, and three 26-foot-long and 12-inch-wide LVLs (Laminated Veneer Lumber) were installed. This is how it turned out.

Project Overview

We completed a major structural renovation that transformed a divided floor plan into a stunning open-concept living space. By removing load-bearing walls and columns and installing engineered LVL beams, we created a seamless flow between the kitchen, dining, and living areas with dramatic vaulted ceilings.

Scope of Work

  • Load-bearing wall removal – Demolition of existing walls to create open layout
  • Column removal – Removal of structural columns that divided the space
  • LVL beam installation – Three 26-foot-long, 12-inch-wide laminated veneer lumber beams installed to support the structure
  • Structural framing – New framing and header installation for openings
  • Open-concept design – Seamless flow between kitchen, dining, and living areas
  • Vaulted ceiling – Enhanced ceiling height and architectural interest

The Result

The finished space features a bright, modern open floor plan with dark hardwood flooring, light gray walls, and a vaulted ceiling that adds drama and height. The kitchen flows naturally into the dining and living areas, creating the perfect space for modern living and entertaining.
